Why gift givers hesitate

How likeness works without a child photo

Start with a memory
Tell us what happened, who was there, and one little detail you still remember. One good paragraph is plenty. Names, places, and family rituals carry the story.

Family resemblance is enough
Confirm the children and gift signature, then add people and pets under Photos & family. Adult and pet photos are optional. If you leave out the child's photo, parent likeness can still guide the child character.

You judge the whole book first
Approve the portraits, add a dedication in A note from you, then read the full Book Proof. Softcover $49 or Heirloom Hardcover $69 only after you approve. Standard shipping is included (~10 days). Choose Express at checkout for +$20 (~8 days).
Privacy is part of the gift
Grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends can make a book without a child's photo library. Adult and pet photos are optional texture, not a barrier. When a parent or legal guardian does add a child photo, it stays private to that book. Reference photos and face crops expire 30 days after upload, whether or not you buy a book. Daily cleanup removes the stored files after access expires. You can also request deletion sooner.

- No. A child photo is never required and never a paid upgrade. You may leave it out and use adult family photos for resemblance, or add one private reference if you are a parent or legal guardian with authority and permission.
- Will they still feel like the hero?
- Yes. Their name, dedication, family people, pets, places, and the remembered moment shape the story. Uploaded photos are used for this book, not for training.
- Is this easier for gifts from relatives?
- Often yes. Gift givers can create without access to a child's photo library. A child photo should be added only by a parent or legal guardian with authority and permission.
- When do I pay?
