Your story is personal. So is your privacy.

• Photos are optional, including photos of children. An authorized adult must provide them.
• Reference photos and face crops expire 30 days after upload, whether or not you buy a book. Daily cleanup removes the stored files after access expires.
• Deleting reference photos does not delete your finished book, its illustrations, or your order records.
• We do not sell personal information or use your private photos and stories in our advertising.

Nidobook LLC, based in Arizona, United States, operates nidobook.com and is responsible for the personal information described here. This policy covers our website, book creation, orders, and customer support. It also covers information about a child, family member, or gift recipient that an adult shares with us.

A parent or legal guardian may optionally upload one reference photo for each child already named in the book. If you opt out, we draw the child from the parents' likeness when those photos are available, or from the details in the book when they are not.

A child photo is linked only to that existing child and used to guide that child's illustrations and likeness checks for this book. It does not create another character and is never required or sold as an upgrade. Nidobook does not use it for training, marketing, or another family's book. The adult uploader confirms their authority and permission when they upload it.

We receive information from you, from the adult creating a book about you, from your use of the website, and from providers confirming payments or delivery:

• Contact and delivery details: your name, email, and any billing address, recipient name, delivery address, or telephone number provided for an order or support request.
• Book details: names, ages, pronouns, relationships, optional heritage or traditions, memories, locations or seasons you mention, dedications, appearance requests, edits, and your book approvals. Please leave out sensitive information that is not needed for the story.
• Optional photos of family members, pets, and children that an adult with authority chooses to upload for this book.
• Order and payment records: the edition, price, transaction references, payment and refund status, and delivery updates. Stripe handles payment details; Nidobook does not store your full card number or card security code.
• Technical and usage information: IP addresses, browser and device details, service identifiers, actions such as completing a step or starting checkout, performance measurements, and error or security logs. We also keep messages and attachments you send to support.

We use your information to save and resume your draft, write and illustrate your book, check uploaded content and character likeness, apply your edits, record your approval, take payment, deliver your purchase, and answer support requests. We also use limited technical and transaction information to diagnose problems, prevent misuse and fraud, improve the creation experience, and meet legal and accounting obligations. Nidobook does not use your private photos or story details to train its systems.

Uploaded photos and their face crops expire 30 days after upload, whether or not you order a book. Returning to a draft or shipping an order does not extend this deadline. Access stops at expiry, and our daily cleanup permanently deletes the stored files; temporary deletion failures are retried. Your finished book and its illustrations remain available. To make a new book later, you can upload your photos again. Some changes to an older book may no longer be available once its reference photos expire.

A rejected or failed upload, or a reservation that is never completed, becomes eligible after a 24-hour recovery window. If you remove or replace a photo, it becomes eligible once the work that still depends on it is released, always within the same 30-day retention limit.

At any time, you can ask us to delete photos by writing to support@nidobook.com. Photos are stored privately with access controls, are never sold, and are shared only with service providers that need them to create, fulfill, or support your book.

To create the illustrated characters, our tools work from the optional family, pet, and guardian-authorized child photos you provide. While your book is being made and supported, we detect and compare faces in human photos to keep each character looking consistent from page to page. We use face-location and comparison information for those checks. We delete stored face crops and the location metadata on the uploaded-photo record with the reference photo. Draft and book records can retain related location information and quality-check results under the other retention criteria described below. Nidobook does not maintain a faceprint database or use these checks to identify people outside your book. These checks do not authenticate your identity. You can create a book without uploading photos or ask us to stop using a photo by contacting support.

We share only the information needed for a specific job with providers that help perform these tasks:

• Vercel, Supabase, Inngest, and infrastructure providers help host the website, save drafts and book files, manage access, and coordinate book creation.
• Anthropic and Google provide story, illustration, content-safety, and likeness-checking services. They receive the story instructions, book content, and reference images needed for the relevant task.
• Stripe processes payments and returns transaction status and the contact or delivery details needed to fulfill your order.
• Prodigi and delivery partners receive the approved print files and recipient information needed to print and ship your book. Printed pages can contain the names, stories, and illustrated likenesses you chose.
• Resend delivers service emails, such as return links, receipts, and delivery updates.
• PostHog and Sentry help measure how the service works and diagnose errors. Our analytics configuration disables session recording and automatic collection of form interactions.

Providers handle information under their applicable service and privacy terms, including security, abuse prevention, and recordkeeping requirements. Payment and delivery providers may also have their own legal obligations. Our 30-day reference-photo deadline describes access and deletion in Nidobook’s photo storage; it is not a promise that every provider’s operational record or backup disappears at that exact time.

We use browser storage to help resume book creation and recover pending changes. Sign-in, security, or payment services may also use cookies or similar technology to work. Clearing or blocking this storage can interrupt those features; it does not delete records held by Nidobook.

In your browser, our PostHog analytics keeps identifiers in memory rather than analytics cookies or persistent browser storage. Server-side creation and purchase events may be linked to a book or order using service identifiers. We use these events to understand completion rates and reliability. We disable session recordings and automatic click and form capture, and strip page-address fields from browser analytics events. Cookieless analytics still involves processing technical and usage information.

You can manage cookies, site storage, and microphone permissions through your browser. Nidobook does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. This policy does not treat visiting the website as consent to optional processing.

Dictation is optional and starts only when you choose it and allow microphone access. Your browser’s speech service turns your words into editable text and may process audio through its own provider. Nidobook receives the resulting text for your memory; we do not upload or store an audio recording. You can type instead and can stop dictation or revoke microphone access in your browser.

The 30-day photo deadline does not apply to your written memory, saved draft, finished illustrations, book files, or order history. We keep these to provide access to your book, complete orders, handle corrections or support, and meet our recordkeeping obligations. You can request deletion of a draft or book by email; deleting an uploaded photo alone does not remove its illustrated likeness from a finished book.

For contact, payment, delivery, support, and security records, retention depends on the purpose, whether the request or order is still active, any dispute or fraud investigation, and applicable tax or legal requirements. We retain limited consent and deletion records to document how a request was handled. If we must retain information after a deletion request, we will explain the reason. We do not promise a fixed deletion period for these categories.

We may disclose information when required by law or a valid legal request, to investigate misuse or protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transfer, subject to applicable privacy obligations. If you deliberately share a private book or return link, someone with that link may be able to access its content. Keep these links private. We do not publish your private family content as a public gallery.

Nidobook is based in the United States. Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries, where privacy laws can differ from those where you live. Any protections required for a particular transfer depend on the applicable law and provider arrangement. Contact us for information about the arrangements relevant to your data.

Email support@nidobook.com to request access, a copy, correction, or deletion of your personal information, including a child’s information you are authorized to manage. Tell us the email used for the book and what you want us to do. Never send your password or full payment card number. We may need to verify your identity and authority before disclosing or deleting family information; do not send an identity document unless we specifically request it for a necessary verification step. We respond within the time required by applicable law and explain any permitted exception or extension.

Where applicable law provides these rights, you may also request a portable copy, restrict processing, object to processing, withdraw consent for future use, or appeal a request decision. You may use an authorized agent where permitted. Email support@nidobook.com to exercise these rights or appeal. We do not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

Where a legal basis is required, we process information to provide the service you request and perform our agreement, meet legal obligations, pursue legitimate interests such as service security and reliability where permitted, or act on consent where required. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent by contacting us. Withdrawal does not change the lawfulness of earlier processing. Providing book details is necessary to personalize a book; photos and dictation remain optional.

Nidobook is intended for adults 18 and older. A child should not use the service or upload information directly. When an adult provides a child's name, story details, or optional photo, the adult confirms that they are the parent or legal guardian, or otherwise have authority and permission to provide it for this book. We knowingly receive information about children from authorized adults; we do not invite children to submit it themselves. If you believe a child used the service directly or someone shared a child’s information without authority, contact support@nidobook.com so we can investigate and take appropriate steps, including deletion.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including access controls and encrypted connections. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure. We limit access to people and providers who need it to perform their work, and will give any legally required notices if a security incident affects personal information.

We update the date above when this policy changes. For material changes, we will provide additional notice where required, and obtain consent where the law requires it.
